The Water Department’s primary mission is to provide an adequate and reliable water supply for all household, commercial, community needs, and to sustain and enhance the quality of life by managing wastewater and storm water effectively.
Whether we are providing safe water to residents to drink, supplying water for industries to manufacture goods in Lake City, or protecting our water resources, our main commitment is serving our customers with quality.

Information & Transactions
Applying for Water/Sewer Service
To start new service, you must provide the city with a copy of your lease or purchase agreement (if available), your picture ID, and your Social Security card. We will explain the prevailing rates to you when you apply for service.
Pay Your Water Bill
You can pay your water bill online! Simply click here to be taken to the City of Lake City's secure payment page and use your debit or credit card to pay your bill. You can also call (843) 699-3019 to pay your water bill over the phone by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover). You can also mail payment to the Lake City Water/Sewer Administration at 202 Kelley Street, Lake City, SC 29560, or bring your payment in person to the office (use the night deposit box after hours).
Water bills are due by the 21st of each month (or the next business day if the 21st falls on the weekend). Past-due bills will be subject to a 10% penalty. Accounts two months or more past-due are subject to disconnection for non-payment.
Set Up Auto Pay for Your Water/Sewer Service
Fill out the Checking Account Draft Authorization Form and return it to the Water Department to have your water bill payment deducted monthly from your checking account.
Fill a Swimming Pool
Complete the application to have your swimming pool using a Lake City fire hydrant.
Disconnect Water/Sewer Service
To arrange to discontinue water or sewer service, you must come to the Water Department (202 Kelley Street) between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and sign a work order. You cannot disconnect services over the phone. Only the account holder will be allowed to terminate service.
