Volunteers for the Lake City Recreation and Tourism Department work extremely hard by volunteering their services year round as coaches for football, basketball, baseball and softball. Each volunteer dedicates approximately 12 hours or more per week to the Recreation Department. Some may volunteer as coaches, team mothers, cheerleader advisors and concession workers. All volunteers are very important to the daily operations of the Lake City Recreation and Tourism Department.
All coaches in the recreation athletic programs are volunteers. All coaches must attend a coach’s certification class, complete an application and agree to a complete background check. All coaches must sign the NYSCA Code of Ethics. You must be 18 years or older to coach youth sports or volunteer, and you must have knowledge of the sport you wish to coach.
The Fall Kids Carnival is held annually at the end of October for children 12 and under. The Easter Egg Hunt is held annually in April for children 10 and under. See the calendar of events for dates for the upcoming year.
