lake city blog Get a taste of life from the people who live and work in Lake City, South Carolina.

You may have noticed some changes in Lake City this last week—here are the latest happenings in our community:
1. The B. C. Moore building on the corner of Main and Church Streets has been demolished; the property is in the process of being converted to its new use as a landscaped parking lot. Come by and see the difference—in the next few weeks, you’ll be able to park and walk around downtown at your convenience!
2. The City of Lake City has put up new welcome banners along Main Street; these are one of the first signs of hospitality for ArtFields visitors and spring tourists will see, and they provide a reminder of how friendly and convivial our city can be.
3. ArtFields Event tickets are now live on the ArtFields site (http://www.artfieldssc.org/attendees/events/). Some of these events have limited tickets, so be sure to purchase yours now through the site!
4. In addition, ArtFields hosted the first Volunteers’ Meeting and Kick-Off ‘Arty last week, with over seventy volunteers attending to help plan the inaugural ArtFields competition. If you’d like to volunteer with ArtFields and be a part of the Southeast’s largest arts competition, visit the ArtFields site at http://www.artfieldssc.org/about/volunteers/.
